Blow Up hosts closing bash at Metro Back in the mid-1990s Blow Up was at the very heart of the (London) Britpop explosion, playing out an eclectic mix of contemporary cuts and older, odder sounds, and generally helping to shape that scene. It started off in Camden Town, moved on to Soho and for the last seven years has resided at Metro on Oxford Street. Now Metro is about to close its doors for the last time, and will be going out with a Blow Up-sized bang on January 17th, before the night moves up the road to Bar Rumba on the similarly-illustrious Shaftesbury Avenue. Expect a suitably anthemic mix of Blow Up classics, the best new tunes and probably a few tears too. Visit www.blowup.co.uk for details
