Britpop 1995-1996 Indie for Londoners who didn't want to look like a grunge scruff-bag. BlowUp started in 1993 and was the breeding ground of the Britpop sound. Full of sharp-suited music types (Blur and Jarvis Cocker were regulars), it was dubbed 'The Club that Changed the World' at Britpop's zenith in 1995. Northern Exposure. When they weren't in the Good Mixer, Damon, Justine, Brett and the rest were likely in the tiny Laurel Tree, home (between 1993-96) to Paul Tunkin's hugely hip, neo-Mod club Blow Up, which later moved to the West End.
