Exclusive Blend Volume 2' Blow Up Winningly cheeky, swinging listening, brimming with Hammond organs and cheese-funk riffs, very much the kind of thing you might groove to in the psychedelic top-floor of London's Blow Up club. The bite-sized tracks have useful explanatorytitles, such as Wild Elephant's kitsch 'Medium fast tempo, repetitive theme', or Powerboat's'Frantic, full-blooded movement', which resembles a 1970s aftershave commercial. More excellent stuff from the Blow Up label, and if you haven't done so already, check out the fun-lovin' club night every Saturday at the Wag(see Clubs Listings). Anyway, this album is probably a packet of prawn cocktail Skips: a distinctive flavour of the past, not toeveryone'stastes, but boasting a pleasant melt-in-the-mouth quality.
