Speakeasy
After two and a half years at the Laurel Tree in Camden, Blow Up is moving into the West End, launching at the Wag on Saturday. The 'post-Mod' night has always had a bigger reputation and influence than its size suggested - in 1994 it was the hangout for Blur, Pulp, Elastica and other emerging stars of the Brit Pop galaxy, and its been the club of choice for Camden's Swinging people ever since, occasionally straying out of NW1 to stage wonderful one-offs at the Leisure Lounge and Iceni. One reason for the parties was the chance to showcase live bands, and this will be a real feature at the Wag, which opens with a live set by the @ยง#... Sorry, once again we're sworn to secrecy, let's just say it's a fave band that Blow Up regulars thought they'd never see again..
