Blurred Brothers. With its sardine-packed ambience and mish-mash of soundtrack muzak, rare groove and past and future indie classics, the club's ""celebration of guitars"" has vitalised and catalysed an indie scene that was flagging in saggy T-shirts and warm cider. Delightfully post-mod in dress sense and attitude, Blow-Up's habitues come from the neat 'n' tidy side of indie culture. Nicking their style from the obvious Alfie, Damon and Justine corners, and adding a dash of Riot Grrrl and Noo Wave, they've moved beyond the hackneyed, reheated Absolute Beginners cliches. ""It's a reaction against slacker culture,"" says Paul. ""We're streamlined and we show attention to details in a way that slackers and crusties might not."" Combine that with a broad-based love of pop, exotica, Swinging London soundtracks and screamadelic dance, and that's the Blow-Up experience in a nutshell.
